Jim Shankle and Steve McBride, along with others, had a vision that became a reality.  That vision is Shankleville, Texas.  Imagine the hardships in those days compared to ours.  Our difficulties are not nearly of the same magnitude.  Their blood flows through our veins.  We are the offspring of those proud men and women.  We get excited when we think of our heritage!

 When we have the family outings and fundraisers we need maximum participation!  The volunteers are indispensible and the dollars we collect help us preserve Shankleville's rich history and build our own Community Center for future family gatherings.  Our hope is to place markers at historical sites and make access easier.  The Community Center will allow us to have our family gatherings at a mutually convenient time and produce income to be used toward further preservation of our family heritage.

There is a three step process for us to succeed in our family plan.  1) We need a vision.  2) Our vision becomes our goal.  3) Our goal will become reality.

We're currently at stage 2, which will require your participation and enthusiasm to ensure that the memory of our proud ancestory is preserved for future generations.
